September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

During National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, radio host and former NFL player Mike Golic is doing his part to sack childhood cancer by joining Chili’s Give Back. Give Hope. campaign for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The September campaign is an annual fundraiser to support the hospital’s efforts to fight childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. To date, Chili’s has raised more than $50 million for St. Jude, one of the largest donations from a single-partner campaign in the hospital’s history.

From Sept. 8 - 22, guests across the country can visit their local Chili’s Grill & Bar to support St. Jude’s lifesaving mission. Guests can make donations by purchasing game day gear like eye black strips or add an amount of their choice directly to their check. They could also dine at Chili’s restaurants on Monday, Sept. 22 as Chili’s will donate their net profits from that entire day to St. Jude.

Mike Golic is a co-host of ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning show, and an NFL reporter/analyst for Sunday NFL Countdown. Golic joined ESPN in 1995 after a nine-year career as an NFL defensive tackle for the Houston Oilers, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. Since joining ESPN, he has worked as the color commentator for the Arena Football League (1996–98, 2007–present) and the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars pre-season games (1995–98).

While a junior at Notre Dame, Golic played in the Liberty Bowl against Boston College and Doug Flutie. The team regularly visited St. Jude and it clearly left an impression on him as he still talks about it more than 25 years later.
