In this video, we will show you the steps to make the system partition read/write on your Android device via TWRP.

By default, the system partition is read-only on your Android device, hence you will only be able to view files in the system partition but wouldn’t be able to make any changes to it.

This is where this guide will come in handy. Using the instructions given in this video, you make the system r/w and carry out the desired tweaks of your choice.

In this regard, some of the most noteworthy customizations that you could carry out involve changing the boot animation, making changes to the build.prop file, and tweaking the device’s XML file to add/unlock some hidden goodies [such as 90hz in Xiaomi, as shown in the video].

If for some reason you want to go back to the stock system, i.e. make the system read-only, then that is also quite easy to carry out and I have shown it at the end of the video. So do refer to it, if required.

NOTE: I have published a similar video on making the system partition r/w but that involves using the Fastboot method. Compared to the current TWRP method, the Fastboot approach is way too much lengthy and complicated. So if given a choice, I would recommend you opt for the TWRP method itself [though the entire decision lies in your hands].
