Work process/thoughts:

I worked on this on and off for far too long than I would have liked. I get so bent on having the lyrics appearing on screen how Hosomi is singing them but at the same time, I don't want to affect the translation. I try to find a middle ground by only doing that when I can so I take quite a while figuring that out.

I try my best to keep the translation as accurate to the English lyrics comparing all the Japanese translations I find online, but there's so much nuance I worry I'm making mistakes. Of course, I probably am as I don't know Japanese. Though, as this song helped me see, it can't all be perfect so I need to stop lingering so much. I'll continue doing the best I can.

If only I could get my hands on all Elle's CDs to see their lyric booklets this would be so much easier lol

作業プロセス／感想

思ったより長い間、この作業を行ったり来たりしていた。細美さんが歌っているように歌詞を画面に表示させることにこだわると同時に、翻訳に影響を与えたくない。その中間点を見つけるために、できるときだけそうするようにしています。

ネットで見つけた日本語訳をすべて見比べて、英語の歌詞になるべく正確な訳を心がけているのですが、ニュアンスが違いすぎて、間違えているのではないかと心配になります。もちろん、私は日本語を知らないので、おそらくそうだろう。でも、この曲でわかったように、すべてが完璧にできるわけではないので、ぐずぐずするのはやめよう。できる限りのことを続けるよ。

エルのCDを全部手に入れて、歌詞ブックレットを見ることができれば、こんなに楽なことはない(笑)
