Switching between tasks and even just performing tasks for autistic people can be very difficult.

This is because of the amount of information that can be flowing to an autistic person at any one time can cause confusion in understanding what the task is and then having to switch.

But there is a large set of anxiety and stress related to switching tasks for autistic person this is because what is that people enjoy routine and structure and like to complete one task before moving onto another task when they are ready.

There are ways in which we can help overcome this switching of task issues which I have detailed below.


1. Set Task Timer
Using a timer to allow you to have a visual guide of how much time you need to spend on a task is excellent for autistic adults and children and will help you know that a switch in task is coming up.

2. Brillia
I use brillia to help keep me calm and stress free during the day to help with things that may pop up like, change in routine or switching tasks.

3. Visual Task Planner
Creating a visual planner of all the tasks that you will be performing in a row will allow you to see what is next and when you are going to switch that will help the transition.
