South Yard - Shunting the daily goods

Описание к видео South Yard - Shunting the daily goods

'South Yard' is my 2mm Finescale micro layout depicting the terminus of a fictional Plymouth railway backwater built by the LSWR to tap into the traffic of the southern part of the Devonport Naval Dockyard. It branches off the Stonehouse Pool line and climbs towards a rather basic station located just outside the dockyard wall from where views over the river Tamar to Cremyll and Mount Edgcumbe can be had. Freight traffic can be exchanged via a line that continues through a gate in the yard wall to pass to the south of the rope walks and join the network of lines inside the yard.

The period is circa 1967-72 with the line in Western Region hands and becoming rather run down. These dates are firmly in the diesel hydraulic era and also the green/blue transition period. The layout is 10 inches by 16 inches and packs up into a briefcase.
