Upcycling an upright piano to make a Piano Bar

Hey there, I'm Lexie, self confessed shopaholic, property expert and now DIY and upcycling enthusiast! I completed this project throughout lockdown when I decided I'd like a home bar, I spend half my life in bars anyway so thought I may as well have one at home as it looks like we'll be doing more home entertaining instead of going out out! So I found an upright piano for FREE on Facebook market place, luckily Dad had a trailer so we could easily collect it. We took it apart so we could remove the iron frame that the strings were attached to as this is what makes it so heavy and difficult to move and as I will be transporting it back to London from Devon this will make it so much easier! Then we put it back together making some changed to give it a bit of an update and more of a cocktail bar look, so we turned the lif round to face the back so it left the keys visible and then we had a piece of glass made for the front so you can still see the keys. We added a mirror to the back and kept the pegs the strings were attached to so we could hang glasses there. We also made a shelf out of the extra wood parts for the bottom to stand bottles on. And voila he was finished, Pierre the Piano bar!
