Rhinoplasty & Fat Transfer to Chin: One Day & One Week After Surgery

Often seemingly minor trauma to the face or nose may not result in visible aesthetic damage but when left untreated, the aesthetic, structural and functional affects of sports-related injuries can worsen over time.

After a longtime baseball injury in the past, Drew experienced a variety of problems that developed over time, including breathing issues that prevented him from sleeping through the night as well as keeping others awake from his loud snoring that seemed to continue to worsen.

Deciding it was time to seek intervention for his increasing complications, Drew consulted with Dr. Kian and decided to undergo a rhinoplasty procedure. While developing the treatment plan, Drew also desired achieving a more defined and balanced lower face.

During surgery, Dr. Kian also performed submental liposuction to remove unwanted fat and give a more defined neck and jawline. A small amount of fat rich in stem cells, or ‘adipose derived stem cells' or ADSC, was then harvested from Drew's abdomen. The fat was purified with the PureGraft micro-filtration system and enriched with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). This meticulous method of fat transfer ensures optimal retention rate and smoother tissue for precise placement. By injecting the fat into Drew’s chin, significant projection was achieved, resulting in a balanced, masculine and natural-looking result.
