Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Centre's move to recruit 45 senior-level officers through lateral entry. Taking to social media platform 'X', Rahul accused Modi of undermining the Constitution by bypassing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and instead recruiting public servants through the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He alleged that the recruitment process was a ploy to sideline SC, ST, and OBC communities by denying them reservation in key government positions.

Rahul also cited the controversy surrounding SEBI, pointing out that for the first time, a private sector individual has been appointed as its chairperson, which he claims reflects how corporate representatives are now occupying critical government roles. Opposition parties have echoed Rahul's concerns, accusing the government of systematically sidelining marginalized communities.
