Who is Shamsud Din Jabbar, the New Orleans attacker?

The suspect in the New Orleans vehicle-ramming attack that killed at least 10 people was an army veteran from Texas who was reportedly having financial problems.

Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, a “US citizen from Texas,” was identified by police as the man drove a truck at high speed into a crowd of New Year revellers, wounding more than 30, in what the FBI has confirmed was a terror attack.

Jabbar, was firing shots as he ploughed the vehicle into the large crowd at about 3.15am local time, before being killed by police after he crashed the car and stepped out armed with an assault rifle and began to shoot at officers.

The FBI said they didn’t believe he was working alone, and agents were looking for those who had helped him.
