The Artful Dodger is a global hit Disney Plus series inspired by Oliver Twist, set in the fictional Australian colony of Port Victory in the 1850s. The show follows former pickpocket Jack Dawkins who reinvented himself as a surgeon, featuring a largely Australian cast including Susie Porter, Maya Mitchell and Lucy Rose Leonard. The second season was filmed in Sydney's inner west, with elaborate period costumes, sets and props recreating 19th century colonial Australia.
