1950 JI Case Model vintage tractor restoration summary: This tractor had been sitting in our field for many years. I pulled the tractor into the shop as it was not running. It was placed on stands, the engine removed and disassembled, transmission disassembled, finals and brakes were stripped to the last bolt. All ancillary systems were rebuilt, the engine was rebuilt, clutch was relined, transmission was rebuilt with all new bearings and seals. The radiator core was replaced with a new one. I received new tires from the Titan program. The rims were completely stripped and painted, as was all the sheet metal. New wiring harness and plug wires were installed that were period correct. Lights were disassembled, cleaned and new bulbs installed. There was several obsolete worn parts that required me to build and recondition using the welder, lathe, mill, and shaping metal was also necessary. All fluids were put in exclusively from Chevron and the tractor was started. Running adjustments were made, and the tractor was checked for any issues.

Since 1997, the Delo Tractor Restoration Competition (DeloTractorRestoration.com) provides high school students the opportunity to learn and grow through a comprehensive tractor restoration. This is a national competition that engages students, family, advisors, and the entire community. Student teams of one or more, preserve the past by locating an old tractor that was once a valuable workhorse on a farm and restoring it to its former glory.
