5. 9 Divide their tongues, O Lord;
I’ve seen their strife-torn city.
10 Its walls both day and night they guard,
While at its heart is cruelty.

6. 11 Destruction plagues its midst
Its streets are bound with riot.
12 If hurt by my antagonist,
Then I could hide and bear it.

7. 13 But it was you, my friend!
My own beloved companion!
14 We took sweet counsel to ascend
And join the congregation.

8. 15 Let death ensnare them all!
Cast them alive to Sheol!
For wickedness adorns their hall;
They dwell at home with evil.
