Suryakund Construction - சூர்யகுண்டம் (Tamil w. English subtitles)

The construction of the Suryakund at the Dhyanalinga Yogic Temple, has been a massive effort. Like so many structures in Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, it has been built with granite -- built to last, not decades, not even centuries but thousands of years. The reason, as Sadhguru explains: "Because when we build a temple we want to ensure that it's there for a long period of time. I am thinking five thousand years. I don't want to build a temple in concrete, cement... which will collapse in a hundred years, because the energy process that we do will last easily for four, five thousand years. So we want the temple structure also to last that long."

The excavation for the Suryakund started on 11 June 2011, and on 25 July 2011, a crane lowered the first block of stone, adorned with a garland, into the huge pit. Since then the ashram has become used to the constant sounds of drills and hammers, the incessant hum of machines as the work progressed at amazing speed.

The Suryakund was consecrated by Sadhguru between December 21 and 22 2012 with over 10,000 participating.

மாட மாளிகையின் அமைப்பில் சூர்யகுண்டம்! விண்ணை அளக்கும் விசித்திரக் கூரைகள்; அவற்றைத் தாங்கி நிற்கும் பிரம்மாண்டத் தூண்கள்! மேலே சூரியனின் புன்சிரிப்பு; அதனைத் தன்னில் தேக்கி வைக்கும் தீர்த்தம்; அதனில் மூழ்கிய நிலையில் பாதரசலிங்கம்!

ஆண்மையின் தீரத்திற்கு ஏற்ற வகையில் தியானலிங்கத்தின் தன்மையை உள்வாங்க ஒருவரைத் தயார்படுத்தும் அற்புத சக்தி கொண்டது இந்தச் சூர்யகுண்டம்.
