THE ELECTION CHANNEL : Indiaയുടെ വടക്കുകിഴക്കൻ സംസ്ഥാനമായ Mizoram. ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കു സ്വത്രന്തൃം ലഭിക്കുമ്പോൾ അസമിലെ ഒരു ജില്ല മാത്രമയിരുന്നു മിസോറം.1952-മുതൽ സംസ്ഥാന രൂപീകരണത്തിനായുള്ള മുറവിളികൾ ആരംഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. MNF എന്നാൽ MNF അധികാരത്തിലെത്തിയ കഴിഞ്ഞതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ Congressന് പ്രധാന പ്രതിപക്ഷ സ്ഥാനം നഷ്ടമായി. താരതമ്യേന പുതിയ പാർട്ടിയായ സൊറാം പീപ്പിൾസ് മൂവ്മെന്റായിരുന്നു അംഗബലത്തിൽ രണ്ടാമത് എത്തിയത്. 87 ശതമാനം ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ ജനതയുള്ള സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് ഇത്തവണ ത്രികോണ പോരാട്ടമാണ്. ഈ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാർട്ടികളോടെല്ലാം പോരാടി സീറ്റ് നില മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുക എന്നതാണ് ബിജെപിയുടെ വെല്ലുവിളി. കേന്ദ്ര മന്ത്രി Kiren Rijuju വിനാണ് തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന്റെ ചുമതല. സഹചുമതല AK Antonyയുടെ മകൻ Anil Antonyക്കുമാണ് നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
