NIO and XPENG have released their delivery numbers and I do a full analysis of how they performed

NIO are a Chinese car manufacturer established in 2014 with 3 models: ES6, ES8 and EC6. NIO are planning to release 2 new Sedans next year. Sales for its 3 models are increasing each month and the company is forecast to do 45,000 deliveries in 2021. NIO are the pioneers of battery swapping, a service whereby the cars battery can be swapped out and changed for a fully charged one in 3 minutes. NIO have done over 1 million battery swaps and have over 200 battery swap stations. They are introducing their second generation battery swap stations next year with the aim to deploy over 300. On average a person in China is at most 3km away from the next battery swap station. NIO also offer battery as a service, allowing customers to purchase a car at a lower price without the battery and lease the battery on a fixed monthly fee. The uptake of this is strong with 35% of new customers opting in for BAAS. NIO only operate in China but are making grounds on expanding sales into Europe in 2021.

Xpeng are a Chinese car manufacturer with 2 models: P7 and the G3. They are expected to do around 27,000 sales in 2020. Xpeng have control over their manufacturing and can produce 7,500 vehicles per month. Xpeng develops its full-stack autonomous driving technology, as well as core vehicle system: powertrain and the electrification/electronic architecture. Xpeng recently announced their cars will have LiDAR technology helping advance their autonomous driving capabilities

Li Auto are a Chinese car manufacturer with 1 model currently: ONE SUV. They are on tack to do 30,000 deliveries this year. They have their own manufacturing facility that is capable of producing 100,000 vehicles a year
