The Polka Dot Project was created to teach compassion, love and understanding for children of all abilities, particularly those with special needs.

Our first animated series, Polka Dot Pals, explores the lives of five beloved characters—Belle, Marcus, Liu, Carmelo and Jordan. Each one of these characters has something unique about them, but they embrace each other’s differences by celebrating what makes them special. In the process, they develop empathy, kindness, and a caring attitude.

Recent estimates in the United States show that about one in six (15%) of children ages 3 to 17 have a one or more developmental disabilities due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior abilities. These conditions often begin during a child's developmental period, impact day-to-day functioning, and usually last throughout a person’s lifetime. Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability in the US today, with more than three million individuals on the autism spectrum.

Please help us in building a better world for children with special needs by sharing this video. Join The Polka Dot Project in our mission to teach compassion, love and understanding for children of all abilities, one story at a time.
