Back to Scotland now and a nice variety of traction at Carluke and Motherwell in June 1989. Carluke sits on the West Coast Main Line just south of Motherwell. There we see Scotrail 303 & 314s on the Lanark service along with Inter-City, freight and light engine moves. At Motherwell it's more of the same and we see some of the last class 311 Cravens EMUs. These were never converted to OPO operation unlike most of the 303s and were withdrawn first even though they were built later, in 1967! The only traction seen on this vid that's still likely to be seen in the area are the class 90s, now with Freightliner having spent nearly 20 years in Anglia.
