Song Mu Shan Village 松木山村 is an ancient village hidden in plain sight in Dongguan China. For years it sat just a few hundred metres from a busy road yet remained unseen, protected by gentle hills and the natural rise of the land. Filmed from above, the layout of the village slowly reveals itself with old houses narrow lanes and traces of daily life that continue today.

Much of Song Mu Shan Village is still inhabited and parts such as the northern gate are being carefully restored. Running parallel to Songshan Lake 松山湖, the village sits in a prime location yet feels calm and overlooked. This aerial view offers a quiet look at a place where time moves slowly and everyday life continues much as it has for generations.
