STORYLINE:
Moscow court decided Wednesday to uphold the verdict of Russian opposition figure Ilya Yashin who was sentenced to 8½ years in prison on charges of spreading false information about the military.

Ilya Yashin attended the hearing via video-link.

One of the few well-known Kremlin critics to have stayed in Russia after the start of the special military operation, Yashin was arrested while walking in the park in Moscow last June.

The charge stemmed from a livestream on YouTube in which he talked about civilians killed in the Kyiv suburb of Bucha.
