This video had a little of everything for this evenings return trip back north, as you might know our southbound last night featured two fairly unused units aboard these longer distance freights in the form of INRD 4006 & 4004, both locomotives that were built in 1980 still seen earning their spots among the active motive roster.

As the video progresses, you will witness a very foolish motorist whom after stopping, then chooses to gain fame & drive around the already activated lights & crossarms. Doing so, nearly caused what was a very nice train with some really special locomotives destined for a run with Santa through the rural areas along the INRD mainline in both Indiana & Illinois this weekend, to become possibly damaged and unusable.

I have preached many times over the years of doing this about the dangers and sheer ignorance of disregarding warning devices and being careless of oncoming trains.

Luckily! This time everything, except most likely the crew aboard this trains evening was unscathed. You can honestly tell by the horn action even after the train had cleared the crossing that this engineer was way less than thrilled with this drivers choice to not only take their lives & safety, but also the lives & safety of the crew on the train into their own hands.
