M4 vert starts 90k
As tested w/ every box ticked $125k
The ‘23 C63 AMG vert ALSO starts at 90k
But with the V8 and the open top that would get you a little more drama
But of course the new 24 C63 is…what it is..and it’s way more money
For 2023 the Audi RS5 does NOT come in vert…per Audi’s website
But you can bet it would be cheaper

I mean you’re getting such a potent car here and i could knock off 15 grand with two options here…I think at around 100k, maybe 105 it’s more reasonable


2:16 - The look

It’s the same old song and dance since it came out, but honestly as I’ve spent more time with the car it’s really grown on me and I really love this Daytona Beach Blue!

Like the M2 we were just in had iDrive 8 with it’s new features and frills like the laptimer and drift analyzer
And earlier this summer we were in the i7 with its insane autopilot system
And I guess what I’m say with this point is that it’s alittle bit of bummer that the M3 gets the new tech bits for 2023 while the M4 soldiers on with the legacy system


4:29 - Cant get stick in Comp

This point is a little hard to discuss because, on one hand it’s a BMW M car and I believe a M3/4 should always have the OPTION of manual

BUT on the other hand there’s a word on the back gate..and that word is Competition, and that means as fast as possible
And yanno what isn’t as fast as possible? Three pedals
It’s the same reason that Comps get xDrive AWD - it makes the car hevier and maybe less engaging, but it also makes it faster, and faster in more circumstances


GOOD:

5:26 - Unbelieveable Performance

Also the agression that you could attack a corner
These G chassis cars here are unbelieveably sharp and unbeliveeably fast

The chassis and balance tuning, even on the Vert here is so buttoned up - it feels so neutral like the car is almost responding telepathically

You’ve got PS4S tires here wrapped around a staggered setup and the upgraded carbon disks

Then there’s the adaptive dampers and BMWs M differential


7:13 - Crazy spec

I know we talked about styling on the Con side of the video, but we’re here in LA with an INCREDIBLY LA spec…and I’ll always respect and appreciate the crazy colors and specs

Fjord Blue Merino interior
About $2500
All comps get shadowline or black accenting
But this gets shadowline laser headlights
Carbon exterior package - i’ll pricing for all these things in tomorrow’s video
19 in wheels up front, 20s in the back

S58 3.0TT I6
530 hp (+30)
479 lbft (+75)
A lot of this is due to added boost in Comp trim
MPG
18 for comp
Non-comp gets 19 rating


9:30 - Trunk/practiclity

We’re on a 10 day tour here and this thing has handled almost EVERYTHING without flinching

Again, 10 days worth of stuff including hiking and camera gear and this M4 handled it surprisingly well


10:31 - Interior craziness

Carbon buckets
Mis-matching blue seats
If you’re going to go carbon buckets with the daytona beach blue - get the blue and green carbon buckets
Carbon interior trimming
I mean it just looks insane!


11:13 - General tech

Wireless ACP & AA
360 cameras w/ 3D view
And a driver recorder that uses the cameras
Reverse assist breadcrumbs
Custom driver profiles and the M1 and M2 shortcuts
And a $500 wireless charger that weirdly isnt part of another package


11:56 - Sound/toppless drama

And the last thing I just want to touch on the drama and open-top experience that we’ve had over these last 10 days..

We felt like we were outside, experiencing it in such a more meaningful way than in a cabin

We could SEE EVERYTHING - no doors or roofs blocking views

And the sound you get on power was the cherry on top

It was such an amazing trip and I’m so grateful for BMW having the idea and letting us spend so much time in such a special machine…final thoughts
