President Bola Tinubu has taken steps to address the concerns of citizens who have been worried about the potential impact of the recent increase in the naira-to-dollar exchange rate on the pump price of petrol.

Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, held discussions with reporters in the nation's capital, Abuja, where he emphatically refuted these apprehensions. He stated that the reports suggesting an imminent petrol price hike are entirely false.

Although the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has publicly stated that there are no intentions to raise fuel pump prices at its retail stations, there still remains a level of unease among certain segments of the Nigerian population.

Despite this reassurance from the NNPCL, some Nigerians continue to harbor doubts about the stability of petrol prices in the face of the ongoing economic changes.
