double knit button-band tutorial (with button-holes) | for the deuxieme cardigan

This tutorial shows you how to add a double-knit button-band to your cardigan after the fact. Double-knit button-bands let you add a really lovely finish to your handknit cardigans, and lay flat. This tutorial shows you how to pick up stitches along the neckline, cast-on with the Italian tubular cast-on, join the double-knit band as you work it, create vertical buttonholes without having to cut the yarn, and how to cast off. This style of button-band is used in my Deuxieme Cardigan knitting pattern.
