Installing a Packard Shutter on an Intrepid 8X10 Lens Board

Описание к видео Installing a Packard Shutter on an Intrepid 8X10 Lens Board

This video shows how I installed a Packard Ideal #6 Shutter on an Intrepid 8X10 lens board. The Packard Shutter with the 1.75-inch interior diameter is the largest shutter model that will fit on the Intrepid 8X10 when mounted internally. This video covers the parts in the kit and the parts needed to mount the shutter (because you will need to order a board pass-through in addition to the kit. After reviewing the kit and parts content, I'll provide some tips on how I fitted up and mounted the shutter and also some recommendations that I have for both Packard Ideal and Intrepid to make their products a bit more user-friendly for those of us using old lenses.

The lens I mounted on this shutter is a Jos. Scheneider 15.5cm f/12.5 Dasykar lens made some time in the middle of 1925. The Dasykar lenses were the predecessors to the Angulons and this lens covers 8X10, though with no movements to speak of.
