Uses:

The most significant use of technetium, especially technetium-99m (a metastable nuclear isomer of technetium-99), is in the field of nuclear medicine. Technetium-99m is used as a radioactive tracer in a wide variety of diagnostic tests, owing to its ideal characteristics for medical imaging: it emits readily detectable gamma rays, and its half-life of about 6 hours is long enough for conducting studies but short enough to minimize radiation exposure to the patient.
Technetium is also used in some nuclear reactors and could potentially be used in the production of unconventional superalloys.
Environmental and Health Aspects:

As a radioactive element, technetium poses potential health risks if not handled properly. Its radioactivity requires stringent safety protocols to protect both medical personnel and patients during its use in medical diagnostics.
