Chris Kennedy Author Talk - Louisiana Tech's Joe Aillet

Chris Kennedy, author of Louisiana Tech’s Joe Aillet, gave a lecture at the Main Library at Goodwood on Wednesday, September 20. This talk was part of our Special Collections Lecture Series. Chris shared the amazing story of Joe Aillet, head football coach at Louisiana Tech for over 25 years. Joe was born in New York and came to Louisiana as a young child in 1907 on an Orphan Train. He was adopted by the Joseph Aillet family, went to school in New Orleans, and earned a degree from Southwestern Louisiana Institute of Lafayette, known as ULL today. After a distinguished career at Louisiana Tech, the football stadium was named Joe Aillet Stadium and dedicated in his honor in 1972.
