In this video, I will talk about Fafnir's abilities and how to go about playing him as a support. Although many would say he has a high skill-cap and is only played in higher divisions in Ranked, I think he is still suitable for any player once you get used to his kit.
What makes Fafnir very strong is his passive. It acts like a built-in Guardians Blessing. Anytime fafnir kills an enemy minion or god or gets an assist he gets +2 Bonus Gold. He also gets more physical and magical protections for all gold he collects up to 1000g.
So with his passive alone you are getting protections AND bonus gold. That is quite a strong passive on top of Guardians Blessing.
However, some of his abilities can be hard to land sometimes including his 1. His 1st ability is the bread and butter of his kit because it is a stun and a AoE slow. It is good set up for your damage dealers to dish out some damage as they enemy will be stunned and slowed. On the other side, if you miss his 1 altogether you pretty much have missed his entire kit at that point. That is because his 1 is set up for his 3 where he leaps onto an enemy and disarms them while also doing damage.
A combo I like to do is use my 3 to leap and disarm, and then follow it up with my 1 to stun them. His 2 is an attack speed stim for your allies and also works as a heal for yourself.
Most notably, however, is his ultimate. Unlike other guardians, Fafnir has 2 forms and when he is in his Dragon Form, his abilities have upgraded perks and do more damage.
So there is a lot to learn about Fafnir, but hopefully in this video you will see why he is a great support for ALL smite players!
