Nurul Izzah shares her personal story of confronting the man who put her father to jail and putting aside differences for the betterment of the nation. She is currently the second-term Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai and is the Vice-President
as well as the Co-Election Director for People’s Justice Party (KEADILAN). As a strong proponent of
human and civil rights with a special interest in prisoners of conscience, she has advocated on behalf
of Malaysian political prisoners and human rights movements at the international level, most
notably being an intervention in the main session at the 55th Commission on Human Rights in
Geneva. She is also the founding member for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement Caucus, a
member of the Women’s Caucus and is a committee member of the Inter- Parliamentary Union
Malaysia. In terms of media, she actively contributes to “Malaysiakini” and the Malay publication
“Sinar” where she continuously provokes the electorate with dangerous thoughts on reforming the
