Indrani Chakraborty became a powerful ally and advocate for her transgender daughter’s rights. The 17-year-old Aashi* faced severe harassment and bullying in her early school years, but found strength in her parents’ support. From navigating the emotional challenges to standing up against school discrimination, Indrani’s journey is a rare testament to the importance of parental support in the LGBTQ+ community. As a parent, she went through her own transformation—she educated herself, became a public voice for change, and provided the safe space her child needed to thrive.
