(4 Nov 2014) Democratic Senate candidate Bruce Braley accompanied his mother, Marcia, to vote at a community center in Brooklyn, Iowa Tuesday.
Braley says he's focused on "core issues" in the final hours of the campaign, letting voters he wants to raise the minimum wage and protect Social Security and Medicare.
Braley, who voted early, says he understood why Iowans "are getting fed up with what's bombarding their airwaves."
He blames out-of-state donors who have spent millions on attack ads, noting he voted for a bill that would have required more disclosure of campaign spending.
He also says he realizes voters are frustrated with the lack of bipartisanship in Washington, adding he has worked with Republicans on specific issues.
Braley is competing with Republican Joni Ernst for the seat held by retiring Sen. Tom Harkin.
