Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has made a clarion call for consumers to heed Sunday's deadline in the migration to new Eskom prepaid meters. 2.1 million consumers are yet to be migrated onto the new system through Eskom's prepaid meter Key Revision Numbers programme. Eskom will on Sunday stop dispensing KRN1 electricity tokens, thus making the meters inactive. The minister briefed the media earlier, also providing an update on the finalisation of the Integrated Resource Plan 2023. SABC News economics reporter Katlego Legodi spoke to the minister of the sidelines of the briefing.
