Hurricane High School Basketball: The First One Hundred Years contains a history of the HHS boys and girls basketball teams for the last 100 & 50 years respectively. It consists of a team photo, the schedule & results of each game, leading scorers and other significant statistics including a cumulative season total for each player in each available statistic and a brief summary of each team’s season. It also features an individual top 25 in single game, season & career statistics for boys and girls in the following eight categories: Total Points, 3 point FG’s, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, blocks, Field Goals & Free Throws. It will include a list of the top 25 boys & girls teams and a top 10 list for each team in several team categories. I had a committee to help choose all-century and half-century teams consisting of First, Second, Third & Honorable Mention players. I am putting this history together for two reasons: (1) To honor the past teams, players & coaches, and (2) To motivate the rising generations to aim to become great by following in the footsteps of some of the best teams, players and coaches in the history of HHS basketball.
