Europe Trip 2024 - Day 7 - Norway - Bergen

Despite the chilly temperature, the city of Bergen was a beautiful sight, with its greenery and stunning road structures. Bergen, the second largest city in Norway, is surrounded by mountains and fjords, earning it the title of the "city of seven mountains" and the "capital of the fjords." One of its notable attractions is Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world.

We had originally planned to climb Floyen, one of the seven mountains, but due to a long queue at the Funicular railway station, we changed our plans and instead boarded a bus to Nordenspark. This park, surrounded by the deep blue ocean on three sides, was a spacious and peaceful area, with separate paths for cyclists and pedestrians. Although not a typical tourist destination, the park offered a serene experience.

Next, we boarded an express boat and went to the island of Aksoy. It cannot be said that this island is also an important tourist spot. We traveled to see how fast this boat, called the Express boat, tears through the sea. The island is quite populated, and before the construction of the Aksoy bridge connecting it to Bergen, the island relied on boat transport.After sitting on the island for a while, we boarded the bus traveled through the Aksoy bridge above the sea, and reached the city again. we went to the lake in the center of the city called Lille lunge gardsvannet. An octagonal lake with an area of ​​five acres. Park around the lake shore. A huge fountain in the middle of the lake.

We spent some time taking photos and then headed to the Maharaja Restaurant. The food there was just okay. After our meal, we visited the fish market near the old harbor, where we saw a variety of fish species for sale.After making a customary purchase of a fridge magnet from a shop, we took our belongings at the hotel and went to the airport to catch our flight to Tromsø.

I must tell you about the scene I saw while traveling by flight to Tromsø, which is located at 70 degrees north. It was amazing. Seeing the Earth's structure from the sky always gives me goosebumps, especially the breathtaking view I witnessed on my way to Tromsø! Snow-capped needle-pointed mountains, and the sea in between looked like a river from a height.
