How to De-carbon & Replace Head Gaskets On A Onan or Many Small Engines. DO BEFORE ADJUSTING VALVES

Here we will show the process we use to de carbon heads, valves, pistons and combustion chambers without full engine dismantling. Then we will show you how to install new head gaskets. This ALWAYS should be done before any valve adjustment. This is a REGULAR maintenance item you should be doing EVERY 250 to 500 hours according to the manual! It may just save you a blown engine!! The process is very similar for any in block valve L style flathead engine. Be sure to watch our video on the proper way to adjust Valves on Onans.
