Tekken 2 VER.A [Arcade] - play as Angel

Описание к видео Tekken 2 VER.A [Arcade] - play as Angel

This is a play-through using Devil / Angel in the Arcade version of Tekken 2 version A. Read on below for more information...

Angel / Devil (Devil to be exact) is the final boss of the game. He/she is a non-selectable character in this version of it.

Angel is the alternative 2nd costume for Devil, so technically when it comes to gameplay, she is the same character as him.

===== ANGEL'S TEKKEN 2 STORY =====

As Kazuya is possessed by a black heart which embodies itself as Devil, Angel is basically the rare "good" side of Kazuya. This concept of him can also be described as: "some see a jet-black Devil, while others see the brilliant rays of an Angel." Angel basically seeks to battle against Devil to save Kazuya.

===== GAMEPLAY =====

She is the same as Devil obviously... so that basically makes her a slightly different version of Kazuya. The biggest difference is the two laser moves which are unique to her and Devil. She has most of Kazuya's moves and doesn't seem to have any other unique moves (besides the lasers) of her own. Her physical build is smaller than Devil, but I do not know whether this affects her hitbox ranges or not.

===== ABOUT T2 VERSION A ANGEL =====

---- In Tekken 2 Version A, Devil is an unplayable character. This means that his second costume Angel would normally not be seen in the game, making this an unused costume. I am not 100% sure on this though...

---- In gameplay, there is a glitch with his/her Dragon Punch move and that is when you execute it and immediately press LK or RK, the move is cancelled and he/she returns straight to their neutral stances. This is because Kazuya has an extension for this move which can result in him mid-kicking or sweeping as he lands from the Dragon Punch... which suggests that Devil / Angel was "built" on Kazuya's coding but not finished!

---- The above glitch confirms that Devil/Angel is an unplayable character.

---- If you play through single-player mode with Angel, she will face Heihachi as the sub-boss on Stage 8, before taking on Jun on Stage 9 and then Devil on Stage 10.

---- Angel is the final boss for Devil. (This is normally not seen because they are both unplayable characters.)

---- On the character select screen, she does not have her own portrait and retains Devil's portrait instead.

---- On the character select screen, there is no announcer voice for when she/he is confirmed.

---- Her name still appears as "DEVIL" underneath the lifebar.

---- Angel uses Devil's icon on the ranking screens.

---- In gameplay, she has no voices besides for when she gets defeated, for this she uses Kazuya's defeat voice.

---- In her profile, her fighting style is Mishima Style Fighting Karate. The martial art for deities it seems.

---- She does not have the "holy ringing" sound effect when she does her air laser unlike in the PS1 version of the game.

===== ABOUT ARCADE TEKKEN 2 Ver.A =====

This is a vast improvement on the prequel as it is far more refined and fleshed out in all aspects. All the personal sub-bosses (besides male Kunimitsu) return and all them are playable through the use of hidden input commands on the character select screen. Every character in the game has their own stage background as well.

Interestingly, it should also be mentioned that in the Arcade versions of Tekken 2, there is a setting in the options/operator screen that allows you to set either Baek or Jun as the regular character on the character select screen.
