On 29 May 2024, South Africa hold its seventh parliamentary elections and elections to all provincial parliaments since the dawn of democracy in 1994. The election resulted in a significant decline for President Cyril Ramaphosa's ANC party, with 40% of the vote, down from 58% in the previous election of 2019. The main opposition party, the Democratic Alliance (DA), won 21.8% of the vote, and third in place came in former President Zumas far left party MK with 15 %.
