How to test iStartek Ibutton Reader on VT600 GPS Tracker
Hello, this is Ruby from iStartek，we are quality factory for 2g 3g 4g GPS Tracker and 4G Router since 2015, this video we will show you how VT600 connect to iButton.
Before starting please make sure you are using ibutton version VT600 hardware and firmware.
If you are not sure about it welcome to check with iStartek Team.
For iButton version VT600, AD is modified to 1-wire cable, input2 is modified to OUTPUT2.

Please prepare 1pc laptop, 1pc mini USB Cable, 1pc buzzer, 1pc ibutton reader, 1pc ibutton tag, 1pc VT600 with sim card on it, 1pc GSM antenna, 1pc GPS antenna, 1pcs power cable and 12V power supply.

Note there are continuous type buzzer and Intermittent type buzzer, for this testing we need to use continuous type buzzer.

If you want to view the iButton ID on the platform, please configure the device to go online on the platform first, so that the device can send data to the platform normally.
Open the CD document which provided by iStartek Team, install USB driver based on our laptop OS, WIn8 USB driver can be used for WIN7, WIN8, WIN10 OS, my laoptop is WIN10, lets install the USB Driver.

After installing USB Driver we can plug the USB Cable to laptop USB Port, go to laptop device manager, to see what is the COM Port, This Prolific USB to serial comm port is our USB port, so it’s COM3.
Now let’s open Parameter editor, select the corresponding COM port. Click open, you can see the bottom left corner shows connected. Choose the GPRS Type. Fill the time interval, APN, APN Name, APN password IP and port. Click write, then click read.


Then, we can start to connect the ibutton.
Firstly, connect VT600 AD wire the blue wire to the red wire of the iButton, connect the white line of iButton to the GND line of VT600.
Secondly, connect the red wire of the buzzer to the 12V red wire of the power supply, connect the black wire of the buzzer to the Input 2 white wire of the VT600.
Thirdly, connect the VT600 to the power supply.


Open the comm tool, select the correct COM Port, choose 9600, check the Hex to ASCII. Click open, and you can see the data.
Then, swipe the ibutton, you will hear a beep, after a while we can click “close” to stop collecting data.
Now let’s check comm tool data to find IBUTTON ID, we can see there's an R here, and then there's a number below it, that is the number of the iButton.
Also we can see IBUTTON ID in GPRS Alarm data.
