This is a Christmas ghost story based on a real nineteenth-century account, recorded locally and passed down in written form.

Set in North Yorkshire in the winter of 1891, it tells of a late-night arrival at an old coaching inn… and something that never quite left.

This isn’t a jump-scare or a dramatisation. It’s a story told the way ghost stories used to be told — quietly, using imagination and with time to listen.
