A runthrough of the mission "Contact" This is not a speed run, nor is it a show of skill. It is simply a demonstration of this mission in HD (720P) This is divided up into 4 parts.

Settings: 1280x720, All settings High (DX9), 4xAA.

2 GB Corsair XMS2 PC 6400 RAM
500 GB Western Digital Caviar SATA HDD (game drive)
640 GB Western Digital Blue SATA HDD (media and recording drive)

Windows XP MCE 2k5

This was recorded using FRAPS. The frame rate was limited to 30FPS to reduce file size and improve fluidity of the movie. I also realize that I could have taken off AA and gotten a far better frame rate, but I decided that I wanted the better picture quality rather than better fully fluid performance.


IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A MOVIE OF CRYSIS @ 720P, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION!!!

Here's a tip for anyone that has a similar or even better system than what I have and wants to record video of their games: If you have only 1 Hard Drive and you intend on recording video of Crysis @ 1280x720, you won't be able to do it acceptably. The computer will constantly lag about every 5-10 seconds. This is due to the Hard Drive being accessed for more level and game data.

In order to achieve a fluid recording experience, you MUST get a secondary Hard Drive devoted to recording. What this does is it allows the processor/GPU the ability to access your main Hard Drive while simultaneously writing the video to your secondary Hard Drive. Thus, you get a lag free, fluid video. I don't recommend doing any of this unless you have a fairly beefy system though.
