How to Find & Reset Your PIN on Facebook Messenger to Synchronize Messages | Easy Step-by-Step Guide

If you've been trying to synchronize your messages and are stuck on the "Enter Your PIN to Restore Chat History" screen, this video has you covered. Facebook Messenger uses end-to-end encryption to protect your messages. If you're being asked for a PIN, it's the one you set when enabling secure storage.

Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten it—here’s how you can reset it and get back to your chats:

Steps to Reset Your Messenger PIN:

1. Open Messenger on a device where you're already logged in.

2. Access Settings:
Tap your profile picture in the top left corner.
Select "Privacy & Safety."

3. Manage End-to-End Encrypted Chats:
Tap on "End-to-End Encrypted Chats."
Choose "Secure Storage."

4. Reset Your PIN:
Tap "Reset PIN."
Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new PIN.

Once you’ve reset your PIN, use it to restore your chat history on your new device. If you no longer have access to a logged-in device, Messenger may offer the option to restore chats via a one-time code sent to your registered email or phone number.
