One of the hardest nights of this man's life. It's just after 6 a.m. and it's been over 8 hours since his cat's water broke. Yesterday afternoon he prepared a birthing area for his cat. At 7pm he noticed the amniotic sac was protruding and immediately contacted his vet. The veterinarian suggested that the cat should be allowed to deliver naturally for a quicker recovery. However, if the cat had not delivered by morning, surgery would be necessary.
The man was on tenterhooks all night. Around 8 p.m., the amniotic sac began to get bigger and he began to learn how to assist in the delivery. By 11 p.m., the amniotic sac had ruptured, but there was still no sign of the kitten. It's hard to describe how helpless he felt. He was terrified that the kitten might not survive, jeopardizing the mother's life.
At 2 a.m., he began to actively help the mother cat through the birthing process. But for a first-time mom, labor is a very difficult thing. At around 4am, her contractions became more frequent, but so far, she still hasn't given birth.
