When I first met Brandon I noticed how fit, trim, and upbeat he was.He is a body builder of a unique quality. He has Sickle Cell Anemia. Sickle cell is a hereditary form of anemia in which a mutated form of hemoglobin distorts the red blood cells into a crescent shape at low oxygen levels. It is most common among those of African descent.

Because of the challenges people with Sickle cell face it is not recommended by the medical profession that they not over exert themselves with physical exercise as it causes complications sometimes severe, affecting their health and well being.

Being diagnosed at three Brandon has suffered through these complications but still exhibits a persona of optimism. Against all odds he is determined to follow his dream to become a professional bodybuilder.

This is the first video as I follow his pursuit.
