THE SEARCH FOR THE BEST CHICKEN FRIED STEAK IN TEXAS OF 2023 CONTINUES
This year ill be traveling all over the state of Texas to find the best chicken fried steak in Texas
This week i am exploring east/central( Brazos valley) area of texas

Simple review:
Steak was so so so tender and easy to cut( you actually didn't need a knife,it could been cut with just a fork)(
The thickness of the steak was perfect,not to thin and not to thick
Nice thin crispy perfectly light golden brown breading on steak .The breading was absolutely perfect, the breading stayed on after every cut and bite until the end
Gravy was perfect consistency, not too thick ,not too thin ( but had a small bit of flour taste at the end )
Definitely hand breaded and wasn’t frozen ,it was very hot as it got to my table( definitely freshly fried)
The steak was absolutely perfectly seasoned( I didn't even look at the salt and pepper shakers on the table)
The size and portion was HUGE( bigger than my hand) ,I actually ate EVERY bit of it
The price was the most i have paid yet but it was a fair a deal (20.00) that included mashed potatoes ,corn and Texas toast
Not too bad of a deal ( for the huge portion size)

EXTRA POINTS:
Loved the size and atmosphere of this place(its been around since 1984)
Love the wood work,tin walls and deer antlers around the dining room area( Makes you feel like your in the country and a real TEXAS eating experience
Very experienced wait staff,very fast, kind and efficient
Lots of locals eat here as i could see by the way they interacted with the wait staff
Loved the different types of HOMEMADE pies and daily specials( which is very good deal)
This definitively is AGGIE country ( beware LONGHORN fans lol)
THIS PLACE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING( I AM DEFINITELY GOING BACK!!!!!
