Multi-Agency PURSUIT on Ford Mustang - Arkansas State Police end pursuit with PIT / TVI Maneuver

Report:

On Thursday, July 4, 2024, at approximately 9:05 am, I, Trooper Daniel R. Parker #390, was traveling south on Interstate 40
East near the 132 mile marker. Troop A Communications broadcasted over the radio advising that Conway Police Department
was currently in pursuit of a red Ford Mustang on Interstate 40 East at the 132 mile marker, and that they were requesting our
assistance. At the same time, a secondary Conway PD unit was approaching me from the rear. I advised Troop A
Communications that I was near the pursuit and would be enroute.

I activated my emergency lights and sirens, and quickly caught up to the pursuit near the 135 mile marker. As I passed the
primary Conway PD unit I advised Troop A that I was now the primary officer in the pursuit at 9:06 am. The Mustang was
traveling in the center lane at approximately 70 miles per hour in the center lane and displayed the following Arkansas license
plate on the rear bumper: AVC52P. At 9:06 am, I approached the Mustang on its passenger side and contacted its rear quarter
panel with my front drivers side bumper to perform a tactical vehicular intervention. The contact caused the Mustang to rotate
clockwise across the roadway and into the 135 mile marker entrance ramp lanes from Mayflower where it was disabled. I
positioned my car in front of the Mustang and performed a felony takedown.

The suspect, Joshua Bennett, complied with my commands to exit his vehicle and was taken into custody
without further incident at 9:07 am. I turned Bennett over to Officer Adam Ball #2302 of the Conway Police Department and he
will be charging Bennett with the following: Fleeing – D Felony, Driving on a Suspended License, No Seatbelt, and Improper
Turn Signal.

No vehicles were damaged as a result of the pursuit or TVI. Smith Wrecker arrived to store the vehicle and the scene was
released to Conway Police Department after the suspect vehicle and all police vehicles were moved to the shoulder.
