The Harsh Truths of "Care"

Описание к видео The Harsh Truths of "Care"

“It’s because I care about you.” Is this common statement love, or manipulation?

Arcane’s aired season is a great animated show (based on the League of Legends video game, and published on Netflix) which lives and dies by its strong characters and their relationships, all deep enough for a video essay analysis. These characters form sets of 2 over the season which discuss a deep and meaningful message about how we love others, how delicate the benefits of that care can be, and how it’s not always good to do what’s “best” for them; Vander to Vi, Vi to Powder, and Silco to Jinx. Vander teaches Vi the responsibility needed to love others, but in one mistake driven by his care for her, undoes every lesson, leading to how she makes mistakes with her sister Powder. She fights for a better future for Powder, but this raises a harsh truth; doing what’s best for someone, or trying harder than they asked for, won’t always have good results. And this influences her change into Jinx, who develops an odd relationship with Silco formed around a natural manipulation. Despite how unhealthy it looks, Silco and Jinx may represent how the most basic positive aspects of love and care can go horribly wrong. In today's video essay let’s break from anime a bit and analyze this topic that Netflix’s Arcane (the League of Legends TV show) develops with its fantastic characters, and discuss the effects it can have on us while we wait for season two.
