Volkswagen Amarok 2025 review: 10 Deserts | Special dual-cab pick-up honours Guinness World Record!

What better way to celebrate a Guinness World Record in the automotive industry? A special edition, of course. Enter the 2025 Volkswagen Amarok 10 Deserts, a limited 4x4 dual-cab pick-up that pays homage to a V6-powered example of the German ute that crossed all 10 of Australia's deserts in less than a week.

That said, the 10 Deserts is based on the Amarok's Life TDI500 grade, which is instead powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel four-cylinder engine. Its outputs of 154kW and 500Nm are 30kW and 100Nm down on the 3.0-litre unit in the record-setter. But, of course, there's more to the special edition than what isn't under the bonnet, as it does come with a 40mm suspension lift, black 17-inch alloy wheels, Continental CrossContact all-terrain tyres and underbody protection.
