After exploring the cities of Dubai and Sharjah, I set out on a day of eating Indian food in a new city with my friend Ruzaina from Minority Taste! Join me as I eat Indian food for 24 hours with Minority Taste in Abu Dhabi, UAE!

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE. We’d be hitting up all the best spots in the city. Our Indian food journey began at Sangeetha Restaurant for a south Indian breakfast!

It reminded me of a south Indian diner. We went with a ghee roast paper dosa, idli, vada, rava dosa, and chai. We also had sambar, coconut chutney with green chilies, tomato chutney with red chilies, and white coconut chutney with mustard seeds!

The tomato was full of flavor and the paper dosa was nice and crunchy. We washed it down with some filtered coffee!

The sambar was like a thicker and creamier lentil and tomato stew and felt super healthy. I loved the mild, sweet white coconut chutney as well. It was so fresh! But my favorite was the tomato!

Next was the rava dosa, which is crispy and doughy, and full of holes. It also contained some green chilies and peppercorns. It was really good!

We followed that with idli. Ruzaina and I poured the sambar and chutneys on top of the idli and broke it up to mix it all together.

The vada with the white coconut and tomato chutneys was really nice. I loved how fluffy it was!

Then, we had a palate cleanser and then headed to India Palace Restaurant for North Indian food! The decor inside was really beautiful!

They also have a market where they sell jewelry, figurines, decorative mirrors, and more. They also make bangles using natural wax!

At our table, we had the lamb seekh kebabs, roomali roti, chai, papadum, and two curries.

The papadum with tamarind chutney was a crispy/sweet combo, while the achar added some sourness.

Next was the dum ka zafrani murgh, which is chicken cooked in an almond sauce, and palak paneer. The palak paneer with the roti was flavorful.

The kebabs had some heat to them, while the dum ka zafrani murgh was rich, creamy, and unique. The gravies were unreal! Finally, we finished with some chai!

Next, we headed through the center of Abu Dhabi to Ritaj Restaurant for the city’s best biryani. It’s a small spot that sells about 6 types. They’re famous for their Chicken 65 biryani!

After a fresh salad of chilies, onions, cucumbers, and carrots, we jumped on the chicken 65 biryani. We also had raita and a chicken gravy.

The chicken alone was flavorful and spicy, and was creamier with the raita and gravy. The marinade on the chicken was fantastic!

Next, they brought us some gosht ka marag (white lamb curry) and some delicious, fluffy bread that absorbed the curry. It was tender and peppery! The lamb rib was outstanding!

Then, we needed a break from eating and explored the commercial area of the city before stopping at Madurai Restaurant.

We started with laban, which is like a sour milk. After watching them make a blue crab semi-roast curry and chicken fried rice containing egg, cabbage, chili powder, and more.

The rice felt very Indo-Chinese. I loved the chilies, and the gravy on the crab semi roast was outstanding. The meat was very sweet!

The manager brought me some gulab jamun to calm down the heat! It contained cumin and cardamom!

Finally, we went to a Kuttyes Restaurant, a Kerala-style restaurant inside a vegetable market. I saw lots of snacks outside, and after seeing them make beef curry and kitchen curry, parottas, crab, and massive prawns!

After a refreshing lime juice, we dove into the amazing beef fry, karak (chai), flaky parotta, and beef curry! The flaky parotta with the beef fry and curry leaves was outstanding. The beef curry was unreal, too!
