Moses and Messiah: Finding Christ in the Old Testament

Описание к видео Moses and Messiah: Finding Christ in the Old Testament

We open with a reading and examination of the Mount of Transfiguration in Matthew 17, and examine the question that haunted me for far too long in yesteryear : of the entire catalogue and history of Old Testament characters, WHY Moses and Elijah? I may not have stumbled across the best answer, but I’ve found enough to not be annoyed reading this event in Matthew, Mark and Luke, at least. Hopefully you’ll agree, too.

From there we dive into the verse from Deuteronomy 18:15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people, and to him you shall listen.” When you examine details from early Matthew/Luke alongside the early chapters of Moses in Exodus, you find details that seem to mirror one another. Paranoid rulers. Attempted eradication of respective saviors generations. Concealment from birth.

Other details and questions included:
-what did Moses’ and Jesus’ first public miracles have in common?
-what did Moses’ and Jesus’ names have in common?
-what Moses name is backwards in Hebrew.
-what imagery the Hebrew evokes for Egypt.
-how Moses tried to save his brethren, but was rejected. Ultimately delivered them in his second coming.
