With Keithley’s TSP (Test Script Processor) you can run scripts or code on your instrument directly, without an external computer sending commands. This eliminates communication delay and gives you the highest throughput with your instrument. This also allows you to easily automate routine tasks, program complex behavior, and work efficiently on isolated or remote instruments.

Join Technical Marketing Manager Brad Odhner to program a 2636B Source Measure Unit (SMU) in a live stream presentation. Together, we will walk through an introduction to Keithley TSP and perform some real tests you can use as a jumping off point for your own work. You’ll be able to view the recording after the stream.

You’ll come away with an understanding of:
• Programming simple behavior for your 2600B SMU
• Customizing data returned by your SMU
• Running programs on your SMU remotely

If you want to follow along with your own instrument during the live stream, you’ll need:
1. Any Keithley 2600 Series SMU such as:

2. A Windows computer with Test Script Builder installed, available for free at https://www.tek.com/keithley-test-scr...

3. A way to connect your PC to your instrument. USB is recommended, but LAN, GPIB, and RS-232 are also options. You may wish to test this connection ahead of time, as we won’t spend much time on connections during the event.

4. Devices to test on. You can skip these and use open leads, but your returned data won’t make sense:
An LED (a diode or even a resistor would also be fine)
A transistor or other 3 terminal device. If you don’t have a 2 channel SMU, you can either re-use your 2 terminal device, or grab a simple power supply to apply voltage to the gate.
