Today we visited the dead Chambersburg Mall in Chambersburg, PA. The mall opened in 1982 by Crown American. Original anchors were Hess's, Gee Bee and a Carmike Cinemas. Bon-Ton was added in 1985. Sears came to the mall in 1991. In the early 90's Hess's closed and the space was replaced with a JCPenney. Gee Bee became Value City in 1992 and closed in 2008 then replaced with a Burlington. Sears closed in 2014 with the space currently being occupied with Black Rose Antiques. JCPenney closed in 2015. Bon-Ton closed in 2018 with the bankruptcy. Burlington closed in January 2019.
